Jim Casey is a Perkins Fellow and postdoctoral research associate of the Center for Digital Humanities at Princeton University. He is national co-director of the award-winning Colored Conventions Project and co-editor of the forthcoming essay collection, The Colored Convention Movement: Black Organizing in the Nineteenth Century. His research interests include nineteenth-century American literature, African American literature, print culture, and editorship studies, extending out into the digital humanities and public humanities. Along with work that has appeared in Common-place, his book-in-progress is titled The Invention of Editors. He has served as an instructor at HILT and on the advisory board of the Research Society for American Periodicals.
